Make your own Dreamcatcher with Linda Culpin

We are so excited to be offering this workshop. We really missed it in 2020.

In a world where we see 'dreamcatchers' everywhere, we are very fortunate to have this opportunity to learn from Linda, who is able to share these authentic teachings.

The Dreamcatcher holds the Magic of Dreams. It is a sacred object for self-help, made with willow weave, feathers, crystals, etc. We weave at night while people are asleep and dreaming, not day dreaming. We weave backwards, as time goes backwards when we sleep. We recall the day in case we have missed something that needs to be learned.

The weave holds the good dreams allowing that which is not needed to pass through the centre hole. It can help to bring clarification or a deeper insight into situations or goals.

This weaving is a personal journey - for yourself. This workshop will not teach you to make dreamcatchers for gifts or for sale. The purpose is to create your own, personal Medicine Object. Participants find the weaving to be an incredibly powerful and transformational process. Year by year, each and every one of us has deep lessons and insights as we experience the weaving.

Linda was taught the story and to weave by Tom" Grey Elk" Rael a Picaris Peublo native American living in Denver. She met Tom 8 years ago when visiting America. She spent time helping Tom with his artwork and working the metaphysical shows with him They travelled over many states for shows and to visit various shops he supplied.

Cost including all materials and tea: £30

Come and make your beautiful rawhide rattle with Lu and Sue in the crystal barn.

On Saturday we will meet at 2pm. We will cut out rawhide for our rattles, sew the pieces together and stuff them to create the hollow shape. We will complete by 5pm and they will then be left overnight to dry.

On Sunday we will meet at 10am. We will fill our rattles, attach them to the handle and decorate them. Our rattles will be awakened when completed. We will finish by 12 noon.

Before the workshop you need to make a medicine walk taking tobacco as an offering. Hold the intention that you are going to meet the handle for your rattle and walk with a strong focus. When the handle shows itself to you, pick it up and leave a pinch of tobacco as a thank you.

Traditionally the stones for the rattle are tiny white stones found by a badgers sett or a rabbit’s burrow, where they have been dug up from deep within the Earth. However they can also be collected from the beach, again preferably white and quite small. Don’t forget your tobacco offerings.

I like to have 20 tiny stones, one for each of the directions of the 20 count, so bringing in all the energies each time I rattle. (Tiny crystals can be used but the rattle will be quieter. Dried beans can also be used. The choice is yours as they will all make a different sound.)

Rawhide, red thread, awls, needles etc will be provided.

Please bring scissors, your handle, your stones and also a beautiful piece of cloth to wrap up your rattle when it is completed.

Cost for whole event: £50
